Give us a quick overview on Exposit. When and how did you begin this journey and what were your motives to be successful in app development?
Exposit is an IT outsourcing company from Belarus, founded in 2012. For over 6 years, we have been creating quality custom Web, Mobile and Enterprise software for more than 15 business domains including Fintech, Healthcare, Telecom, Media Management. The main motive for creating a software development company was great technical knowledge of Exposit tech leaders, poor IT services presented on the market and projects that we could raise to a new level.
What is your role in the management and development of Exposit?
At Exposit I work as Chief Business Development Officer. Being a member of the Management Board I take part in discussing all questions regarding current and potential clients, contracts, strategic planning and business development, exploring sales perspectives and Exposit presence on the IT market.
Tell us about your biggest achievement in the industry
We’ve successfully completed over 150 projects. For the last 2 years, we have been working on our own Computer Vision product for interior design (and have already registered a separate legal entity for it). It works through the following steps:
It defines all objects in the real interior using a neural-network based algorithm;
Then it marks the walls considering room perspective, doors, windows and specific room shapes;
The app tries on the chosen covering materials on the walls preserving texturing and materials’ pattern, lighting and shadows of the room.
It’s one of the projects we are proud of especially because of the fact that Exposit team has created a neural-based technology for changing interior in a real room on our own. We have optimized our overlay algorithm and already solved the texturing issue.
How do you schedule the development phases of the apps to promise the timeline to your clients?
First, predictability of terms is determined in accordance with the model of cooperation used in the project. In case of Time and Material, the timeline can be dynamic because of possible changes in requirements, technologies and so on. In case of Fixed Price we guarantee predictability of costs, schedule and budget because all stages of work, results, time and costs are determined in advance and stipulated in the contract. In case of Dedicated Team when a client is responsible for managing our engineers, they also meet the deadlines signed in the contract.
How do you help your clients in choosing the right yet profitable platform for app development?
The choice of the platform for software development depends on several factors including client’s business goals and needs, project requirements, target audience, budget, etc. We often get requests from clients who already know what platform they need. In case our customer needs consultation on the development platform – of course we take into account the target audience of his app, his budget and planned functionality to create the most marketable product.
Which would you suggest for a successful and profitable business progression, Native or hybrid apps? How do you define the factors that influenced you to make this choice?
The decision on Native or Hybrid app platform depends on each individual business, its target audience, primary goals and available budget. One of the main activities before launching product is a market research and comparison of your idea with analog apps. On average, Android applications development is more expensive than iOS in 1.2x. If you are going to build a Hybrid app, it will likely cost 1.6x more than iOS one. For a limited budget, consider building a minimum viable product (MVP) to test the idea.
How do you scheme your pricing model? How do you fix your budget?
We offer 2 models of cooperation: Project Development (Time & Material and Fixed Price) and Dedicated Team. During Time & Material project, the resulting price is based on hourly rates and time spent by Exposit’s employees. Using the Fixed Price model the scope is fixed and strictly respected in terms of time and envisioned functionality. In case of Dedicated Team - the resulting price is based on hourly rates and time spent by Exposit’s employees.
How helpful are the mobile apps developed by your team, for enhancing your clients’ business?
We develop marketable products meeting the needs of every individual business and its clients. The incorporation of a mobile application is not an alternative to business' web presence, instead, an extension to a broader audience. Our mobile apps are geared towards offering a comfortable user experience. We often receive feedback from our customers that mobile applications we developed are not only stable, but also will significantly increase customer engagement and sales volume.
What according to you are the best practices to attain client satisfaction?
The most effective way to achieve client satisfaction is to create a custom quality product meeting client needs and requirements and of course, timely deliveries. As for Exposit, we carefully approach to each project to implement top-notch custom functionality that will be easily used by our clients and their businesses. To ensure the quality of developed product our skilled QA engineers provide manual and automated testing. If needed, we provide timely support and quickly respond to any inquiries. That’s why we guarantee customer satisfaction.
How do you update your business system to be in pace with the technological advancements?
Working in IT sphere businesses need constant progress. Exposit has a structured business system with well-adjusted production and administrative processes. Our team follows the latest trends and technologies to build marketable and stable products. From project to project we choose the most suitable cooperation models, work methodologies in order to adapt to specific project requirements and client needs.
What are your thoughts about AR, VR and Internet of Things (IoT)?
Exposit has an experience of developing AR product, where users can use their devices’ cameras and view different covering materials in their own interior. By the way, our mobile specialists are keen on creating VR-games (especially arcades) and have skills in creating media streaming solutions with VR-mode. As for IoT, we’ve taken part in several projects for smart home, where different home devices can be controlled from another one. Thus, we are positive about AR, VR and IoT and suppose that such solutions will become more popular to simplify our daily life.
What do you think will be the future of Mobile technology?
Suppose that mobile technology will be more connected with AI, neural network algorithms and media streaming. It will cover all user needs concerning online experience (ecommerce, booking, online education and more) on the go. Most likely, more businesses will need Hybrid apps instead of building Native ones to cover a broader audience.
