Give us a quick overview of Glorium Technologies. When and how did you begin this journey, and what were your motives to be successful in app development?
Before co-founding Glorium Technologies, I worked as a developer on Wall Street for eight years. I thought starting something new was the right thing for me at the moment, back in 2010.
I knew it was easy to legally register a company in the USA, and so I did, with only about 10-20 thousand dollars in capital. During our first year, I was personally involved in the development, programming, and searching for clients myself.
My first clients were my former bosses from financial companies on Wall Street. My partner Dima also worked in America at that time and eventually joined only 3-4 years after I stopped doing the work on my own.
With his help, we have steadily increased the number of clients and projects, which is how we’ve been able to grow our team and even open new offices in Kyiv, Kraków and Paphos.
What is your role in the management and development of Glorium Technologies?
I am a CEO of Glorium Technologies. The company was founded by me in 2010 and has 170+ employees. I built the company from the ground up over the last 11 years. At the moment Glorium Technologies is showing constant growth of 20%-30% over the last year, and it was included in the list of Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Private Companies in America in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
Our focus is to help tech startups strengthen their teams with on-demand agile product development services, reduce time to market and optimize development costs.
Tell us about your biggest achievement in the industry.
Our greatest achievement is the trust of our customers and the dedication of our highly qualified technical staff. Our company holds 11 years of experience in providing software engineering services, and has delivered 50+ products to its satisfied clients. Almost 200 skilled and talented developers, designers, PMs, BAs, and QAs remain constantly engaged in delivering quality products to their customers. These people are the reason the company has 99% of the client satisfaction rate.
“Over the last 12 years, we have been growing at a steady pace of about 25% per year. We’ve made it into the Inc 5000 list during the last three years in a row, and we’re planning to continue the growth at a similar or higher pace.”
How do you schedule the development phases of the apps to promise the timeline to your clients?
We plan phases determining optimistic and realistic estimations for them. We also share risk management plan to a client to commit to deliverables, having initial planning clear for both parties.
How do you help your clients in choosing the right yet profitable platform for app development?
We collect pros and cons for different options; discuss them with a client pursuing project goals. We also recommend certain platforms based on our experience and expert opinion, but the decision-making process is always collaborative.
Which would you suggest for a successful and profitable business progression, Native or hybrid apps? How do you define the factors that influenced you to make this choice?
Hybrid or web languages are getting popular now; also we prefer native languages for complex projects to allow their flexibility and lots of possibilities for growth.
React Native has low performance, but the fastest development. It's easy and fast to do MVP version. Flutter has almost the same performance as native, but the community is not as large as Swift/Kotlin. With Swift/Kotlin, it's much easier to find the right library and not to make something from scratch.
How do you scheme your pricing model? How do you fix your budget?
In our case, each project is unique, so its price range depends on the technology stack, team size, and composition, long-term project vision, etc. So the average monthly range varies between $10.000 and $150.000.
How helpful are the mobile apps developed by your team, for enhancing your clients’ business?
Personally, in my experience, the most useful ones are the ones that include integration with hardware, because they get data from certain devices via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or NFC and allow you to work with them immediately. We really excel at developing such applications. Our apps that include 3D modeling features also look impressive.
The main thing is that the app itself has to fit the specific project and its specifics, take into account the wishes and close the needs of customers in their carrier-free environment.
What according to you are the best practices to attain client satisfaction?
There is no point in me making claims. We are listed at TopDevelopers.co and many other listing platforms, and our customers are always glad to share feedback on cooperation with us here. We aim for a 100% satisfaction rate, and we’re pretty close to it, I’d say.
How do you update your business system to be in pace with the technological advancements?
Through constant monitoring, investigations of modern technologies and applying them on practices, trying different approaches to reach project goals more and more efficiently
What are your thoughts about AR, VR and Internet of Things (IoT)?
Virtual reality is an entirely fictional environment providing artificial experiences (intended to imitate reality). Augmented reality, on the other hand, is a digital addition to an entirely real object, situation, or experience.
Nowadays, VR is mainly used in entertainment, media, and the arts. In its turn, AR is used in all other sectors, and many of its use cases were simply unimaginable even five years ago. Medical services are vitally important at every level, and life-and-death situations are no place for creative exercises. VR/AR is also used in healthcare for training doctors in certain medical procedures, IoT for medical devices integrations, statistical data managing.
Yet, ongoing AR medical app development is one of the booming sectors of the SaaS market, with millions of dollars invested every year.
What do you think will be the future of Mobile technology?
My guess is Android stats and iOS stats. These platforms will continue to evolve for many years to come, because there are so many products made for these platforms that cannot be so easily replaced by something else.
Android, in order to reach many users, will have to support older versions of the OS that are 5+ years old.
