Abto Software originally proposed the thought of implementing computer vision for faultless hole recognition. But having carefully tested the application, our team has discovered that the currently utilized UI/UX approach is confusing even with manual markers and provides no room for adopting computer vision.

With the critical need for flawless daily operation, the client has sought to facilitate its usual quality control. Given its brand image, all-manual workflows were no longer justified.
That’s where Abto Software has entered the partnership to design a solution for automated visual inspection by leveraging computer vision image analysis.
Main goals
The primarily project objective was focused around replacing the inefficient manual workflows of assessment. Before that, the operators heavily relied on rigorously, manually marking faulty components in spreadsheets – a resource-intense, error-prone approach.

We are currently working on building a breakthrough dental product – a solution for creating occlusal guards:

In its current state, our solution directly addresses the demand for precision and efficiency in prosthodontics:

In 2021, our company was contacted by a startup specializing in digital collectibles and serving NFT creators. The client was interested in creating a unique NFT marketplace for viewing, renting, and securely purchasing digital assets, which can then be exchanged for physical items.

In October 2021, Abto Software was contacted by a technology provider specializing in biotechnology research. Abto Software was contacted to refactor a legacy web portal the client has designed for a partner company. The solution allows employees to access, upload, review, and share relevant information avoiding standard, paper-based bureaucracy.
Delivered solution:
The built web portal includes the following sections:
1. Members.
In this particular section, the user can review registered patients, assigned categories, scan dates and results. The functionality also includes the opportunity to add new members and change scan statuses.

In the next section, the user can review registered personnel, their emails, roles as well as current statuses. With the required permission, one can also add new employees.

About project:
Abto Software was approached by a technology provider specializing in biotechnology research to develop a tailor-made mobile application for simplified data management. The solution can be seamlessly connected to medical measuring devices, which test and identify blink patterns, which can be utilized for further data-driven diagnosis and treatment.
Solution's features:
The custom mobile application is designed to display the indicators previously measured by a medical device, which notifies healthcare professionals about abnormal blink patterns that may indicate traumatic brain injury. The application is intended to optimize data management and early disease detection.
Utilizing the mobile application, healthcare professionals can access and review all relevant medical indicators. Such indicators may include blink latency, differential latency, eyelid excursions, lid velocity, the time to open and close the eye, as well as overall blink time.
Results:
Our client obtained a custom-made product that can be sold to partners interested in operational digitalization. The designed mobile application is an on-demand solution, which might provide interested medical companies with the necessary functionality to optimize data management and improve important processes such as accurate diagnostics and early disease detection.

The sustainability startup has approached Abto Software to investigate the opportunity of implementing artificial intelligence to build a marketplace, which would make finding eco-friendly brands significantly easier. Having exhaustive field knowledge and experience in AI and natural language processing, our team took on the project to deliver a product that should be leading on the market today.

Our team imposed a successful hypothesis and selected a suitable NLP model, considering the project’s goals. After that, our engineers trained the NLP model to collect relevant information from multiple online sources. We delivered a cloud-based data warehouse providing for efficient collection and integration of information associated with customer management, accounting and marketing processes, and related business modules. In 2021, our team took on a project for a US diagnostic imaging network. The project’s main objective was the development of an advanced EMR (electronic medical record) system in order to make the work of clinicians a whole more efficient. At the start of our cooperation, the client used an outdated system that blocked the personnel from providing patients with high-quality service. Now it’s complemented by our custom software solution that allows to make quick changes and optimize internal processes such as business reporting.

The project’s main objective was creating an advanced EMR system to help medical personnel easily manage clinicians and patient appointments, plan schedules, securely store patient history, and create business reports. The designed electronic medical record solution is independent, to the limit flexible, and easy to plug.

To cover these tasks, Abto Software provided dedicated software developers with necessary field knowledge and experience.

2. Increased efficiency. Legacy code refactoring, optimization and modernization, as well as debugging made the Decision Model’s performance faster and made the solution more accurate.

Personal medical device integration with mobile telemedicine app
Project's objective:
One of the project’s main objectives was the successful integration with personal medical devices. The purpose was to give patients the opportunity to share health indicators with their consulting physicians in a few clicks. As soon as the medical device is connected to the healthcare application, the indicators are automatically displayed on the screen. After that, the patient can share health data with the consulting physician via a telehealth mobile application to receive an updated treatment plan.
How the developed solution works:
1. When opening the application, the patient gets access to the main menu. There they can choose between categories.
2. To measure a certain health indicator, the patient must next select the relevant section. For example, the “glucose in blood”.
3. The next step is to synchronize the personal medical device with the health app. The device can be selected from the list of all available devices with turned on Bluetooth.
4. As soon as the health indicators are measured, the transferred health records will be instantly displayed on the app’s screen. The information can be then shared with the medical worker.

Cloud, Mobile, and SaaS Development for a Fitness Application
Our cooperation began in March of 2020. The customer approached Abto Software to obtain additional engineers to facilitate the migration of the existing web fitness solution into the cloud. Additionally, they required mobile application development experts to help expand their solution’s functionality by developing native Android and iOS apps. Finally, part of the client’s business strategy was expanding their market reach with a customizable SaaS solution.
Abto Software provided experienced engineers who have integrated and now cooperate with the client’s three separate teams: the Web team, the Mobile team, and the SaaS team.

How does the platform work? The process is pretty simple and straightforward:
1. Register the portal.
2. Admin will admit/validate the user, role, and permissions assigned.
3. The users have different dashboards depending on the role.
4. The project catalog has two different user flows, one for buyers and one for sellers/providers. Sellers are able to submit and manage their projects, while buyers are able to view all projects or search information about projects filtered by the technologies, locations, solutions, and project types they are interested in.
5. The buyer can view the projects both as a list and a map.
6. The users can participate in conversations on various topics, communicate with each other to build rapport within the platform for future deals.

How to Convert VB to C#
Challenge
Our client is the US-based world’s leading manufacturer in their area. We started our partnership in 2019 when they used tools written in different languages around 20 years ago. It has become increasingly hard to support such a diverse set of applications.
Long-term goal:
- A single state-of-the-art tool that would be able to design all types of products. Challenges:
- AutoCAD plugin was written in VBA and LISP with problems during installation;
- Each new version of AutoCAD brought new issues for the plugin;
- Some parts of the functionality stopped working completely;
- AutoCAD was still supporting VBA. But it wasn’t available by default and requires a separate download and installation.
Solution
We created a detailed roadmap for the conversion process. We decided:
1. Convert plugin to .NET C#, remove dependencies on AutoCAD. Implement WPF UI using MVVM Light Toolkit.
2. Add more functionality in the AutoCAD plugin written in .NET C#. These functions should cover the needs of experienced engineers in the most complex tasks.
3. Build different modes for regular and advanced users. Create simple wizards covering common workflows for regular users and a special mode for advanced users.
4. Separate common code for the plugin and standalone application module into a shared library to ensure the same correct behaviour.
5. Allow reading and saving *.dwg and *.dxf formats, exporting to PDF. The cost-effective solution was to integrate a third-party library WoutWare CadLib.
