Televic Breaking the taboo on nearshoring of tech talent
Televic is a Belgian technology company that works for various sectors such as healthcare, conferences, education and railways. In fact, more than 90% of the hospitals in Belgium have Televic technology in the field of patient and nurse assistance
Xandres Shopping app
Xandres is a Belgian fashion retailer, specializing in women’s fashion. The main aim of the application is to enable automation and speed up the customer service process. In addition, it aimed at receiving information about customer preferences to form proposals for filling collections better.
Ocular
Ocular, a Belgian company that designs and develops digital tools to translate into physical spaces, was planning to build a virtual extension for the experiences it creates. When Belgium went into lockdown, those plans became an immediate need.
The scarcity of talent in Belgium and the urgency of the project led Ocular to nearshoring and, more precisely, to CactusSoft.
The CactusSoft team worked on the software that displays virtual showrooms and allows for scheduling and starting a virtual meeting with virtual face-to-face calls inside the platform.
A virtual showroom is the link between a company's website and its real showroom. It provides personal guidance, with the main purpose being to schedule a meeting in the real showroom. The virtual showroom is built up from modules of the Ocularium platform. The same modules used in the virtual showroom can also be used in the real showrooms and at fairs.
Ocular and CactusSoft were able to design, develop, and successfully launch the platform in five months. Both companies have continued working together on maintenance and updates.
SkyCentrics
The customer ordered the development of multiple applications aimed at controlling and monitoring devices in the Digital Home. Since its inception, the customer’s smart-home project has been expanding to include new functions and new types of devices, so new features and support for new devices were to be added to the mobile apps continually.
Using the applications developed by CactusSoft for SkyCentrics, it is possible to control one or more Digital Homes via iPhone/iPad or Android phone/tablet, or indeed through a web-portal. In addition, we helped develop the Cloud Service for remote control of the Digital Home.
SkyCentrics has been a regular client of ours since 2008.
Epcon
Epcon is a Belgian / South African company that realizes regional epidemic control through the use of smart and innovative solutions. The client needed assistance with the development of two automated and integrated systems for TB screening and predictive modelling.
CactusSoft has developed the patient oriented application that forms part of the integrated solution for TB screening and predictive modelling.
1/ eCBS Geocare South Africa is a digital tool to automate TB screening and treatment processes for individuals at risk. The system consists of web and mobile applications, and helps healthcare workers screen patients in target areas, collect data from interviews and laboratory tests, keep records and monitor the treatment process of infected people.
2/ eCBS Geocare Pakistan is a step-by-step TB screening system in Pakistan. Screening is carried out as part of structural events in selected target areas. The data collection mechanism is similar to that used in South Africa and is based on the data entered by healthcare workers.

eezyimport
Eezyimport is a platform that helps small importers to handle their customs clearance and minimize its costs.

The application simplifies the process of preparing cargo for shipping starting from ISF (Importer Security Filing) to getting an entry summary with regulatory approval. The client was looking for technical help concerning the front-end part.
During the technical analysis, it was found that the application needed significant updates to work smoothly and CactusSoft suggested that the client enhance the app’s performance using its own team.
Four programmers were working on this project and rebuilt the web application together with the mobile version. Further development of the tool was also planned.
Umbi
Development of web and mobile apps was needed to facilitate workflow and servicing in hospitals. By using the app, patients are able to perform some parts of the administrative process themselves, decreasing the total cost of obtaining medical services.
CactusSoft was chosen to develop the project from scratch.
Our dedicated team worked on all stages of the complete software product life cycle. The application allows users to do the following: create a patient’s personal account, view the next appointment and a full history of visits, pay for a consultation in a secure environment, and leave feedback straight after a consultation, etc.
With the arrival of COVID-19, Umbi has increased its focus on the no-touch patient flow and joined a Start-up Accelerator Start it @KBC.
DHL MESSENGER
This was a software program for DHL employee computers and mobile devices created for both Windows and Android operating systems. The program displays an interactive animated character on the screen of desktops or mobile devices. The character appears with a pop-up message delivering the information to the user. These can contain general information, instructions, or reminders.
Our team used the following technologies to create the interactive character: C++, Qt Framework, and Android.
The character is programmed with 40 different animations, which change according to a specific algorithm. This gives the character a life-like quality.
PLEECO
The CactusSoft team have developed Big Data visualization algorithms for an ongoing large-scale web solution development project. The following technologies are being used on this project: Amazon Cloud, Twitter Flight, RequireJS, KefirJS, React, D3, Crossfilter, Babel, LESS.
The solution is being designed specifically for banks, in order to collect and analyze financial indicators. Its Big Data visualization capability is intended to help financial analysts obtain valuable insights by providing a deeper understanding of large amounts of financial data.
WHITEAWAY GROUP (WAG)
The CactusSoft team have developed a flexible, scalable solution that can expand to meet the customer’s needs and their business goals. The solution includes the development of a web admin panel to control, extend and manage the customer’s ERP system (including integration with third-party software and the ability to expand the functionality more effectively and expeditiously). Using the web admin panel makes it is possible to manage order installments and discounts, as well as the call center.

After months of uncertainty concerning our product, CactusSoft has restored confidence with a stable solution. PB plus specializes in rental inspections at the start and end of a lease. The CactusSoft team developed a Single Page Application with scalable microservice architecture. The project is part of a total solution for providing intelligent waste management. The IoT device installed on the waste containers allows: the waste-collection company to know how full the container is, the manufacturers of containers to track and monitor their assets, and the invoicing company to manage individual access to the containers. Residents will receive an invoice depending on how much non-recyclable waste they deposit, and they can also use collection points and container parks.
