Abbott Laboratories
DeviQA was brought in to design and implement automation testing for LibreView, as well as to continuously optimize an automation platform. Our primary goal was to help Abbott release their complex product more frequently and smoothly, while also saving time for the team to tackle other serious challenges.
By creating and setting up the automated test infrastructure, DeviQA significantly improved the QA process. The time of running smoke testing was reduced from 7 days to 1 day only. The time needed to execute smoke testing for individual countries – LibreView has 27 country versions – was also reduced by over 85%. Regression testing was automated as well, and the current test suite consists of 1700 tests supporting 4 web browsers.
Our testing solution employs a keyword-driven methodology, emphasizing performance and flexibility. This approach also makes it easy for all team members to understand tests and their logic, enabling them to choose and run tests according to their needs and parameters.
The shift to automation brought significant value to Abbott, enabling its internal manual QA team to focus on testing new features, creating new test cases, and keeping existing ones updated. This enhanced test coverage of Abbott products, leading to a higher level of user satisfaction.
Compass
On this project, each of our QA engineers works independently to support their own development team and collaborates with a global QA team when needed. The project is extensive, and multiple development teams focus on their own specific tasks. DeviQA’s mission is to support these teams by providing comprehensive testing solutions. Our QA engineers actively participate in Business Requirement Specification (BRS) discussions and design testing strategies at the early stages of software development. All team members have the opportunity to contribute to feature implementation to ensure high-quality testing.
Throughout our work on this project, we have implemented and maintained various solutions, including the following ones:
1. Configuration of a CI/CD tool (CircleCI) to automate test execution for specific microservices upon PR creation, schedule regression and smoke tests, and notify the team in Slack about job results, while also providing detailed statistical reports.
2. Execution of integration tests covering our application and third-party services, such as Twilio Flex, Gmail, Google Sheets, and Google Voice.
3. Development of a custom framework used to execute API tests for services.
4. Automation of UI tests that simulate real user interactions with the system.
5. Manual testing of iOS and Android mobile applications.
All testing solutions for those parts of the application that we are responsible for are developed and maintained exclusively by our team members.

We can boast of a long-standing and mutually beneficial collaboration with Tipalti. Our partnership began when Tipalti had only one founder and engaged only one DeviQA engineer. The dedication, professionalism, and expertise of this QA engineer made DeviQA the top choice for expanding QA resources in Tipalti's journey. Today, we are a trusted Quality Assurance partner of Tipalti, and our team closely works with its in-house team to deliver high-quality products.
The DeviQA team plays a critical role in ensuring the quality of Tipalti’s solution. Our QA engineers design a robust testing strategy, create necessary testing documentation, and establish a scalable and efficient QA process for every new feature. Our collaborative effort has streamlined the development workflow, enabling Tipalti to release software updates 25 times a year.
Our QA process leaves no room for errors. It involves thorough testing of each new feature in several stages. The QA team starts by creating detailed test scenarios and end-to-end test cases, which are rigorously executed to ensure the software works as expected. After these initial tests, the software undergoes a second round of quality control through sanity and automated regression testing, ensuring timely and error-free releases.
Testing is conducted in a dedicated environment to minimize risks and guarantee high-quality performance. The software is released to production, only if these rigorous tests have been passed successfully. This approach lets us meet the highest quality and performance standards and satisfy end users.
Our collaboration model with Tipalti is flexible, due to which additional QA resources are provided when needed. Our streamlined QA process and comprehensive documentation make it easy to onboard new team members quickly. At various stages of our partnership, up to 20 QA specialists have worked on the project.
We have consistently met and exceeded client expectations, covering 100% of required test scenarios, delivering over 250 successful releases, and providing top-quality support for more than 5 integrations over our 12-year collaboration.
