Sentral Clinical Research Services, LLC (SCRS) is a U.S. company specializing in medical research of new drugs and medical devices. The company’s aim is to facilitate the participation of physicians and patients in clinical research.
Challenge
The company reached out to EffectiveSoft to develop a unified document management system that would be highly flexible and user-friendly, keeping document version control and approval workflows.
Solution
During the regular meetings our team discussed the system wireframes and functional specifications with the client to ensure that all the customer’s requirements were met. As a result, our engineers developed the document management system SentralBinders. It simplifies teamwork, expedites document exchange (in Microsoft Word and Adobe PDF formats), and ensures mobility of participants due to access available from different devices (both PCs and iPads).

Enterprise Resource Planning System
Client
Waterway Plastics, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of pool and hot tub/spa and Whirlpool Bath equipment for the USA and international markets.
Challenge
To streamline resource and tasks management across company departments, Waterway Plastics turned to us for a custom ERP software development. Developed by another IT vendor as a web application, the system eventually failed to meet customer’s expectations. The customer’s concern was to speed up the roll-out of the perfected version to end-users as many critical operations already run through ERP.
Solution
We started the project with the analysis of the customer’s requirements and everyday activities in the company, which consequently detailed in the functional specification. After the system was deployed on our and customer’s servers, we proceeded with the improvement of the overall functionality and the development of custom warehouse management software modules, such as: Purchase, Engineering, Shipping and Sales. The modules were developed and tested one by one to ensure their faultless support of company workflows and logical interaction with the entire ERP system. Upon the customer’s request, we also developed a custom mobile application Inventory Management for the warehouse staff.

CityIndex Trading App

City Index is among the global leaders in Spread Betting, Contracts for Difference (CFDs), and margined Foreign Exchange (FX). Its parent company, GAIN Capital Holdings Inc (NYSE: GCAP), is one of the leading retail and institutional trading providers in the world.
Challenge
The customer turned to EffectiveSoft to develop a Windows-based downloadable trading platform as well as trading apps for mobile devices. The requirements to the solutions were: high speed, excellent performance, continuous running without interruptions.
Solution
Together with the customer, we worked out a detailed specification with design sketches of the future solutions. The mobile apps were developed in parallel with the Windows-based trading platform.
Highlights
The trading application enables clients to perform various actions in the personal account: monitoring changes on the volatile financial markets, checking the latest prices and market movements, selecting the market to trade, viewing market trends and indicators, using a trade ticket to sell and buy, opening and closing positions, and more.

InContinuum Software is a Dutch privately held LLC that develops innovative, end-to-end management technologies for organizations of all sizes.
Challenge
At the time the company was founded, there were few to none offerings in the market allowing businesses to automate and control delivery and use of cloud-based services. EffectiveSoft was chosen to develop this enterprise software development solution from the ground up.
Solution
CloudController is a software system that automates virtual machine deployment, application virtualization and deployment, and virtual SAN/SDN deployment. It consists of a web interface, Microsoft Windows services, and custom tools. It is deployed in a few clicks via a user-friendly installer.

Cross-Platform App as SaaS

The Cloud Group is a fast-growing Belgian telecom service provider specialized in cloud telephony. Being an independent B2B vendor, the company offers SaaS (Software as a Service) model to its local and European prospects.
Challenge
EffectiveSoft was asked to redevelop the CloudCall app, which had two separate code bases for iOS and Android. The Cloud Group wanted the app to be cross-platform with the look and feel of the latest iOS platform.
Solution
EffectiveSoft offered robust cloud software and redeveloped the app within the React Native framework. This cross-platform development environment allowed us to write one single code base and seamlessly transfer the code between iOS and Android application platforms. For the customer it meant faster development cycle and time-to-market. What is more, in case the app functionality might need extensions or integration with other services in the future, everything can be painlessly done in one commonly shared code base.
Highlights
The CloudCall app communicates with the custom PBX (Private Branch Exchange) system in the cloud via HTTP protocols by using VoIP technology.

AlgoM DICOM Viewer

The customer is AlgoM - a mid-sized medtech company.
Challenge
The company developed AlgoM DICOM Viewer software as a minimum viable product and wanted to complete it in a short period of time. The healthcare software solution assists radiologists and physicians in reading and diagnostic analysis of medical images in the DICOM format. The customer was looking for tech-savvy developers who would undertake the rest of the work. Medical imaging software had to be scalable, customizable and integrable with such network solutions as PACS and RIS.
Solution
Prior to medical application development, we fixed some critical defects in the system in order to polish already existing functionality. We turned to the Agile approach as some requirements underwent modifications in the course of the project. In the end, we delivered a fully workable networked solution enabling medical imaging professionals to effectively manage digital information.

Challenge
The customer addressed EffectiveSoft with the request to enrich the existing client part of the system with a number of new features, as well as extend the functionality of the server part.

BOSS™ Instrument Console

Intelon Optics, a medical device company, focuses on the next-gen technology that allows point-by-point assessment and diagnosis of biomechanical properties of ocular tissues, such as cornea, sclera and lens.
Challenge
We fully developed the Instrument Console – a core of the BOSSTM optical-scanning diagnostic platform. The console receives eye scans from a special controller-device and presents biomechanical measurements within different patterns. Since the solution is based on the extended Brillouin technique and is intended for eye care practitioners around the world, there was a set of rather strict requirements related to administering, scalability and measurements accuracy.
Solution
We developed the front- and back-end parts of the Instrument Console from the ground up based on provided functional requirements and wireframes created by our designer. The console functions as a multi-tier solution with fast TCP/IP XML serialized socket data exchange between instrumental/algorithmic and business tiers. Integration of tiers is implemented locally and abroad.
HIPAA-compliant features are based on a strict data access model including user/group/role/permission mapping and “tenanted” data access. This means that operators are allowed to see only the data they need for performing their immediate tasks. All the data is encrypted by using the RSA algorithm.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Portals Development
Client
MedScope America Corporation is a privately held medical alert company based in Pennsylvania. They provide PERS devices (Personal Emergency Response System) and value-added services to caregivers to help keep at-risk patients safe out of hospital.
Challenge
The customer was using Microsoft Dynamics CRM for the management of their data and workflows, which lacked some specific entities. Besides, there was a need to automate some routine tasks and digitize big data management to achieve care delivery efficiency.
Solution
We started our work on the project with the MS Dynamics CRM customizations to align all the workflows with MedScope’s real-time activities. Then we proceeded with the development and integration of the dedicated portals for MedScope’s employees, clients, partners, installers and patients. There’s a two-way data synchronization between the medical CRM system and portals.
