We Build Apps That Actually Get Used
Most apps fail. Not because of bad code, but because developers build what clients ask for instead of what users actually need.
We're different.
Frenchy Digital started in 2019 when Chris Machetto got tired of watching beautifully engineered apps collect dust in app stores. After years at companies like Google, Meta, and Snapchat, our founding team saw the same pattern: brilliant technical execution, zero market validation.
So we built something different—a development shop that acts more like a product studio.
The Problem With Traditional Development Shops
They'll build exactly what you specify. Charge you $100K. Deliver on time. And six months later, you'll realize nobody wants it.
We refuse to be that company.
How We Actually Work
Before writing a single line of code, we challenge your assumptions. We research your competitors. We validate your market. We prototype your core hypothesis and put it in front of real users.
Sometimes this means telling clients their idea won't work. Sometimes it means completely pivoting the product strategy. Sometimes it means building something totally different than what was originally requested.
Our clients don't always love this process at first. But they love the results.
Who We Are
Forty-nine professionals—developers, designers, product managers, and strategists—spread across Los Angeles, Paris, and North Africa. Nine executives lead teams that have shipped products for billions of users at Big Tech companies. We've also shipped products for zero users that taught us expensive lessons.
We're a Black-owned company because representation matters, but that's not why clients hire us. They hire us because we've learned—often the hard way—what separates apps people use from apps people delete.
Our team pulls talent from USC and UCLA, training the next generation while keeping ourselves sharp on emerging technologies. We teach an app development bootcamp because we believe knowledge shouldn't be gatekept behind expensive CS degrees.
Our Unfair Advantages
1. We've Seen Both Sides
Our leadership team built products at scale (Google, YouTube, Meta, Snapchat, Société Générale). Our developers cut their teeth at startups that pivoted three times before finding product-market fit. This combination means we know when to move fast and when to build for scale.
2. Scale With Agility
We're 49 people—large enough to handle multiple enterprise projects simultaneously, small enough to treat each client like they're our only one. You get the capacity of a big agency with the attention of a boutique shop.
3. Global Perspective, Local Execution
Operating across three continents means we understand cultural nuances that single-market agencies miss. Your app for LA users needs different UX than your app for Paris users, even if the functionality is identical.
4. AI-First, Not AI-Curious
We've been integrating machine learning into production apps since before ChatGPT made AI cool. OpenAI, Claude, TensorFlow, PyTorch—these aren't buzzwords for us. They're tools we use to solve real problems: recommendation engines, automated workflows, intelligent search, predictive analytics.
5. Transparent Economics
We publish our pricing. Research phase: $5K. Prototype: $13K. Full build: $80K+. No hidden fees. No scope creep surprises. No "we'll need to discuss budget" nonsense.
If our prices seem high, we're probably not the right fit. If you're comparing us to offshore shops charging $15K for a "complete app," we're definitely not the right fit.
What We Don't Do
We don't build simple brochure websites. We don't do "quick apps" in 6 weeks. We don't work with clients who see development as a commodity to be price-shopped. We don't take projects where the founder can't articulate why users would switch from their current solution.
We're not for everyone. And that's intentional.
What We Actually Build
Event discovery platforms where AI predicts which concerts you'll actually attend. Insurance technology that automates quote generation with natural language processing. Social coordination apps that solve real problems, not just "Uber for X" fantasies. CRM integrations that save companies hundreds of hours monthly.
We build apps that have to work. Apps where downtime costs money. Apps where performance matters. Apps that people rely on.
Why "Frenchy" Digital?
Chris is French. The name stuck. It's that simple.
But the name also reflects our philosophy: we don't take ourselves too seriously even though we take our work very seriously. We're professionals who happen to enjoy what we do, not self-important "tech visionaries" who've drunk our own Kool-Aid.
The Partnership Model
When you work with us, you get:
We stay with you post-launch. Most agencies ghost after deployment. We stick around because the real work starts when users arrive.
Our Track Record
Hundreds of apps since 2019. Some went viral. Some quietly made their companies millions. Some failed—not from bad code, but from bad timing or market conditions. We're proud of all of them because each taught us something.
In just six years, we've grown from a handful of Big Tech refugees to a 49-person team trusted by startups and enterprises across three continents. That kind of growth doesn't happen by accident—it happens when you consistently deliver results.
Our best metric isn't apps delivered. It's clients who return. Founders who built one app with us, got acquired, then hired us for their next venture. Companies who started with a $13K prototype and turned it into an $80K full build because we validated the model first.
What Success Looks Like
Not downloads. Not funding rounds. Not TechCrunch articles.
Success is users who keep coming back. Apps that solve real problems so well that people recommend them to friends. Products that generate revenue, not just vanity metrics.
If you're building an app to check a box or chase a trend, we're not your team. If you're building something you believe could genuinely improve how people work, connect, or live—let's talk.
The Bottom Line
We're not the cheapest. We're not the fastest. We're not the nicest (we'll tell you hard truths).
But if you want an app that actually works, built by a 49-person team who've done this before, with a process that reduces your risk and increases your odds of success—we might be exactly what you need.

Frenchy Digital our neighbor and partner built a customized e-commerce using the Shopify platform. They finished building the product and now regularly make modifications and add new features as we grow. We worked with 1 full-time developer and a Product Manager. I met Frenchy Digital as they were literally neighbors to our business but also looked up other providers on google in which they came up on top. We currently spend around $5,000 a month for their services. We began our partnership in October 2021, and it’s ongoing. We’ve received a lot of positive feedback from our end clients, saying the Website gives them easy access to our contact form and that we are able to schedule meetings very easily. Thanks to the system they created, an email capture and a chat bot, we were able to get an average of 10 leads a day. They’re persistent and diligent. We have bi monthly status calls to make sure everything is going as planned plus communications via slack on a day to day basis. Frenchy was highly responsive and accommodating to our busy schedules. It’s very difficult to get partners this flexible on our timelines.
We hired Frenchy Digital to develop an innovative platform to create a network for college students to improve the education experience. They showed great professionalism from the start and we connected with them very easily. Frenchy Digital lived up to our expectations. The scope included email notifications, a payment system, an ambassador program, browser compatibility and styling and UX. They were very innovative and key to helping us come up with solutions and efficient strategies when needed. Aside from the team of developers, we worked directly with Chris and Jasmine who are the CEO’s of Frenchy Digital. They provided excellent service which we were extremely happy with and they gave us very helpful feedback on many different things such as UX, branding, design and marketing. They have a very talented team that is passionate about what they do which helps them deliver their services in a timely manner. They do great work that exceeds their clients’ expectations and go above and beyond to ensure that their clients are satisfied with the quality of work. They are always here to answer any questions and clarify any concerns that their clients may have. Overall I am very satisfied with Frenchy Digital’s services and I would highly recommend them to anyone. - CEO Repandu Raphael
Our website was a typical spa website without much design. We wanted something more user friendly for our patients and that embodied our brand for future growth and more diverse services. Frenchy was a referral from another spa they’ve worked with revamping their website. We found Frenchy to be responsive, and reasonable with the goal of making this website the best possible site it can be. Jasmine makes you feel like you’re the most important client she has ever worked with. She is patient, she listens to our needs and provides novel ideas and thinks outside the box. She was brought on the team after signing with Frenchy Digital as our Technical PM. We needed to completely revamp our web experience and re do our policies to be completely compliant as a Medical Spa. We started with a kickoff meeting to get all our information to Frenchy using Drop box, slack as a communication channel and Trello for project management. Frenchy made everything very understandable and user friendly since we never had a team like them before. Chris the CEO was our First contact, then he had Jasmine manage the project with us and created a system of communication between their developers and designers to fit our needs. Our website is SUPER FAST. That’s not an understatement, they were able to make a google score above 80 for mobile which we have rarely seen for websites like our own. Even if it’s relatively new we've already received some great feedback on its design from our patients who really love the way it looks to book their appointments. The user experience is fluid and not confusing anymore! Frenchy and We communicated via Slack, Phone calls, in person meetings in Beverly Hills, and text messages besides emails with progress reports were dealt weekly. Frenchy takes personal pride in making a website as amazing as it can be and they do bring that much needed “French Touch”.
Our product images, website, and image online was created some time ago and had become outdated. Our website was done on a WIX website that limited our capabilities as an ecommerce. The product photos were also very poorly done the first time so and Since we didn't have in-house developers to invest in a new website, we hired Frenchy to design, shoot, and develop a new Shopify website for us. By doing this, we were hoping to increase our traffic substantially by the end of the year, and actually sell our items. We were searching online for different providers online but wanted someone who had a taste and had the LA vibe. We searched for agencies in LA that had awesome reviews for web developers and then created a list of around 10. After interviewing them, we chose Frenchy based on their past projects, design skills, and cost estimate. Plus they also proposed to do the photoshoot for me and make everything from scratch. I was delighted at the fact that all I had to do was send them products to get everything situated as quickly as possible. We had more than 1 meeting in the beginning. At first, we had a kick-off meeting to discuss our goals and objectives. From there, the team delivered mock-ups and wireframes for our site. The team also created a Pinterest board and mood board for the photoshoot with a selection of models that fit our brand image. After a couple of weeks of planning, they did the shoot on a beach in Los Angeles and Malibu. They not only did a shoot though, they also took behind-the-scenes videos and created lots of great content that would later on go on the website. For the website after a few iterations, their team designed and developed a beautiful e-commerce website that had all the bells and whistles the big players in our space had. They updated the content to reflect our company's services and created an about us page with a contact form. They completely updated our terms of operations policies and made them GDPR compliant. Jasmine was our main point of contact throughout the process. There were also 1 full-stack developer and a designer working behind the scenes. Chris the owner was always included in our communications making sure we as a client were satisfied and had all our inquiries met to our expectations.
