Kaalo was founded in 1993 and over the past 30 years they have served clients representing a spectrum of industries. Industry examples include enterprise level computers and servers, medical equipment, self-service machines, sports equipment, luggage, automobile, housewares, appliances, and many others.
Kaalo is building a state-of-the-art, 5 acre work/play/live technology and design sandbox in Austin which is scheduled to open spring of 2024. Other Kaalo offices are located in Chennai, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai in India.
Kaalo funds technology projects that have realistic impact on businesses. Some of Kaalo’s popular tech solutions include the Dell AR Assistant (award winning tech support tool), Charm (world’s first AR messaging tool), Opus (Books come alive), Karma (Next Gen product User Manuals), EMPWR (Tech aid for the visually impaired) and Studio (Design and technology sandbox). In 2023 Kaalo is launching a line of products designed and developed by them including wearables such as AR glasses.

Self Service Insurance Kiosk Design for Forbes
Self-service industries are very conservative when it comes to margins and costs. Leadership is a key component of Forbes Technosys' success. Design has become their competitive advantage, and they are reaping the benefits. Kaalo has also delivered high-quality user experiences in the Insurance sector as a partner. We conducted a rigorous design process to develop solutions tailored to Chola (FTL's client). The concepts showcased on this page were considered before the final design was chosen.
Integrated Patient Transport & Loading System
The iNX concept was conceived after months of research and insight gathering. In order to gain a better understanding of what really goes on at the back of that fast moving vehicle with the lights on, many "ride alongs" were conducted. Interviews and studies were conducted with EMTs and medics from all four quadrants of the country to determine what design criteria would best address their pain points. As part of the collaborative, iterative, and in-depth design process, all key stakeholders were involved, including medics, EMTs, emergency center personnel, dispatchers, fire fighters, ambulance companies, and EMS officers. Ferno was also involved in the process.
Dell Technologies AR Assistant
Kaalo has collaborated with Dell EMC on creating the Dell AR Assistant, the first of its kind in the industry. Augmented Reality is used by Dell Technologies to assist customers in replacing parts. Customers can choose how their system hardware issue is resolved with the Dell AR Assistant. For assisted self-service, customers can download the AR Assistant application directly to their smart phones.
