Recruitment Platform for Part-Time Job Seekers
A recruitment platform for the human resources industry to help connect part-time job seekers and employers through end-to-end services.
Requirement
The client wanted us to design, develop and implement a unique recruitment platform with a focus on part-time employment, available in Web, Android and iOS. The platform would serve as a marketplace with end-to-end services to connect part-time job seekers and companies looking to have a temporary job done.
Challenge
We had to make the platform easy to navigate, use and manage, as well as provide clear distinction between user groups. In order to achieve that goal, we had to develop a Company Admin system that would approve posted vacancies and new accounts of employers and seekers, providing admins with full control over the employment process and related procedures.
Solution
In the course of development, our team used Python for back end, Angular Universal for front end and Ionic for hybrid mobile app development. We utilized Gitlab tools and effectively configured back end with the mobile applications to ensure the system is easy to use and runs smoothly on every platform requested by our client – Web, Android and iOS. The platform’s functionality includes, but is not limited to one-time password login system, time tracking, job monitoring, vacancy and candidate search engine, employment and settlement mechanisms. We succeeded in implementing all the required functionality for users to enjoy the convenience of every step of the job hunt and employment processes.
Result
Our deep expertise in software development and testing enabled us to complete the project in 10 weeks and accomplish the client’s goal of providing users with the smoothest part-time employment experience from start to finish. We managed to build a platform that will help companies, recruiters and part-time job seekers access all the human resource processes and carry out all the related procedures without ever leaving the platform. Strategic Quadrant
Strategic Quadrant is an app designed exactly for product managers and product owners. These specialists always may offer a million ideas, however, it’s hard to gather them all into structured and, what’s more important, easily comprehensible unity.
Strategic Quadrant software helps to create models, which provide a full understanding of the current project. What you need to leave, what has higher or lower priority. The application allows visualize the matrix of preferences and accept the proper features the customer would be satisfied with. Strategic Quadrant is a tool to transform a plan into strategy swiftly and genuinely.
Challenge
It’s fair to say that the basic functionality of Strategic Quadrant exploits Kanban methodology. Indeed, redoing the existing concept was the most fluent task among others. The real cornerstone that makes the app unique and outstanding was custom features. The original advantages of the project brought us the actual challenge to overcome.
There are many solutions for teamwork organization, management, and analytics. Nevertheless, there was no proposition adapted exactly for the project managers. Surprisingly, since these specialists are responsible for product growth and decide what features to select and implement.
Our task was to turn the idea of such a solution into the software. It should have been customized for the PM’s needs, especially for those who deal with tech activity. Our application should assist to make comprehensive decisions on how to develop the product and plan the whole workflow.
Solution
We chose React to keep the fundament of the project stable but flexible and capable of changeable UI elements ensuring visualization process. This library works with a declarative method, hence enables much fitting construction for the system with models. Our team has developed these elements, together with visualization mechanics, as an optimized alternative for the boards of cards. Such tailor-made patterns ensure the high level of freedom for the user, for instance, custom reporting and personalized assessment formula.
Complementing React with Redux, we leveled-up the app’s inner constitution. Let’s look behind the curtains. Since the default intricacy of bindings between components causes obscurity, we got the clearing solution. Redux creates a separate store that clews up the app’s states to influence components directly. That helps to avoid chaos, structuring the complex system into straightforward integrity, so the app reacts faster and more reliable to the user’s inputs. That’s merely fitting for the stressful atmosphere around the project often including rush and harsh changes in the process.
Since a PM and any other user should’ve driven the application with events (to schedule), we exploited NodeJS. This JavaScript runtime gave an opportunity to apply the language for both front-end and back-end with no additional concernings. Applying the API optimized for massive use (your team can be as big as you need!) and the loop to keep an eye on events constantly, NodeJS served as a firm brick in our coding.
MongoDB clarified objects with classified documentation, so we fulfilled the tasks much more efficiently, and thus quicker.
Result
The mix of React, Redux, NodeJS, and MongoDB suits the architecture of the app seamlessly. The consistent coherence of the tools we used allowed us to build up an exquisite design and smooth back-end independently, but to consolidate them into the database flawlessly, avoiding complicated joints.
That is to say, we spent almost two times less hours comparing to usual ~1200h schedule (according to Ruby Garage). Besides, just 3 professionals, instead of regular 6-member team, scored such record launching the Strategic Quadrant startup. So, we saved the client’s budget, implementing hype solution in shorter terms and with less resources.
Dockmasters Construction Booking Solution
About Project
Our client owns a large construction company that provides building assistance for hotels, office buildings, residential complexes, etc. QArea was asked to create a comprehensive booking platform that should help trades simplify booking processes while reserving the company elevators, cranes, loading docks, staging areas, etc. So, the main purpose of the application is to organize terms of using certain resources. It allows construction companies to schedule resources flawlessly, helping them to avoid different misunderstandings.
The application works within all web browsers and mobile operating systems (IOS and Android) and provides 3 levels of access to the platform: administrator, user, and read-only access. The platform has an easy-to-use and intuitive interface that allows users to easily book the necessary resources. In addition, the application contains a calendar that displays orders according to the dates, times and selected resources.
Challenges
The main scope of our work consisted of the frontend part of the application and its unimpeded interaction with the Rest API of the platform. Thus, we had to develop the platform Admin Panel and User Web Client along with the common application logic and architecture. We were also responsible for creating the overall concept of the application, as well as for an attractive design and intuitive UI. In addition, in-depth QA services were included at each stage of the development life-cycle.
Since the platform was designed specifically to simplify the booking process, we also had to explore industry-specific features in order to make the platform user-friendly and reliable for business in the long term.
Solutions
Our team has provided complete development and testing services, taking into account all the particularities of the building industry. To make the platform logical and intuitive, we used the user-priority approach. The admin and user panels have quick access to personal profiles, which allows users to book the necessary resources in just a few clicks. We used JavaScript and React to allow it reacts quickly to every user action. To make frontend even more compatible with the backend and the code clear, we adopted Redux features. Bootstrap helped us create the pixel-perfect platform that runs smoothly on every device it needs to be used.
Since the application should work both in web browsers and on mobile devices, we focused on the application responsibility and its perfect displaying on all the required devices. We also used security testing to make the admin panel and web user client safe and protected from user data leakage.
Results
The application has been successfully developed and tested. Currently, users can visit the official website of DockMasters and personally check all its capabilities. Our client is completely satisfied with the final result.

About Project:
QArea was asked to develop an interactive, user-friendly, and reliable web online store for a leading global manufacturer and distributor of high-quality shower and tub doors, enclosures, and acrylics bases. The app is focused on the ability to select an appropriate item that will ultimately match the user’s desires. It has an intuitive and easy-to-use interface with the set of features which allows visitors to find needed products just in few clicks.
It also includes personal user accounts and allows visitors to purchase products directly from their personal account. The payment system has a fully-fledged GUI and provides secure and fast data transferring. The online store has a unique customizable configurator that allows users to determine the desired product according to their personal wishes (color, size, material, etc.).
Challenges:
Our development and testing teams had to provide the complete e-commerce solution from prototyping and design, to the API development and a comprehensive QA at each development stage. One of the big challenges was to create a unique and intuitive item configurator along the robust order processing system on the server side.
We needed to set up a server for receiving and processing orders and implement it into the WordPress CMS. The client part of the site had to be intuitive and easy-to-use while the fast performance of the online store played a crucial role in the decision-making. Since the web application had to store a huge amount of data and face high loads, we had to pay great attention to protecting user’s personal information from any data leakage.
Solutions:
QArea’s teams were to develop a reliable and user-friendly online store that would meet all the client requirements and expectations. We decided to use Angular framework since the interface of the application had to be intuitive, while the overall performance had to be speedy. This choice allowed us to develop graphic elements that are user-friendly, but at the same time with the great performance capacity. To develop the API, we used optimal code practices and implemented the most appropriate architectural solutions. Because of the clean code and well-thought-out application architecture we can quickly extend the app’s functionality without any unexpected problems.
For the administration side, we used WordPress. It allows administrators to fill the web store with new products and configure them with custom options. Also, we implemented PrestaShop eCommerce solution for reliable order processing. Since the application requires continuous operations with user data, we used comprehensive QA methods, including GUI, security, configuration, compatibility, and stress testing.
Results:
At the moment, the online store is at the production stage. It works quickly and has an attractive and intuitive design that allows visitors to effortlessly serf around the website. Our client is satisfied with our teams and the quality of QArea services, so we have been working together for more than 5 years. UI/UX Design For Online Travel Agency
About Project
QArea got the request to develop a design concept for a traveling web-based application which provides easy trip booking for corporate and individual travelers. After the registration on the website, users can book a flight using various filters by the necessary categories (time of departure, flight duration, etc.) In addition, the service has an opportunity to book a hotel room, which simplifies the travel routine and reduces the time spent on finding a hotel.
Challenges
Our primary responsibility was to create the application design and the personal user profile UX. We had to make it intuitive and easy-to-use which would help users to quickly find the necessary flight. The concept of the personal user profile played a decisive role while we were working on the overall UX logic of the app. It should have been well-thought out, user-friendly, and have high speed performance. To ensure stable website performance on any device we conducted compatibility, UI/UX, and functional testing for all pages.
Solutions
The project implementation took about 2 weeks and included the following phases: UX logic development, wireframing, design of the pages, style and color palette approving from the client side, etc. Then, it was followed by a week of minor edits and improvements. To better understand the user demands and the application particular functionality, we had to develop a user flow. It helped us to make perfect compatibility between the backend and frontend parts of the service.
Figma is the key instrument that we applied for the website prototyping. As additional tools, we used Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. Since the design was a crucial part of the app development, clear and transparent communication, also played an important role in the successful project implementation. We used Skype for instant messaging and daily meetings, while Odoo ensured a perfect workflow execution from the management side.
Results
The visual appearance of the application is quite intuitive and allows users to book a flight or hotel easily. After selecting the preferred option and providing all the information, the service manager receives this information and orders a trip for the user. After the trip has been booked, users can find all the necessary documents related to their trip in the user profile.
MyRiad Data Solutions
QArea was asked to develop a desktop application for creating backups and safe data storage in the cloud. The key principle of the application is to provide users with a virtual disk on which they can store their files. Files can be shared between 3 clouds: Amazon S3, Google Drive, and Azure Bucket. This way, files are divided into three storage locations. Thanks to this, the application provides a huge level of data protection. In addition, it has an intuitive and easy-to-use command line interface and comprehensive statistics. A handy analytic tool allows users to view their activity history and collect account metrics from the cloud API (application programming interface).
Challenges
Our main goal was to create a well-protected data storage application with an easy-to-use interface. As our client provided us with minimum project requirements, we had to develop an application concept from scratch, and also cover all development stages from design to testing and further maintenance of the project. The application had to have a huge level of security, so the QA phase had to play a big role for our team during the development life cycle. Based on customer expectations, we also had to prepare a set of technical documents and use cases for testing.
Solutions
QArea provided both development and testing services for our client. The project realization took 6 months and covered all the development stages. We used RAID 5 approach to meet the main purpose of the project and ensure its protection from data leakage. In addition, we developed a convenient CLI (Command-Line Interface) and provided future users with smooth navigation through the application. For successful API development, we used C# programming language as well as Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), Universal Windows Platform (UWP), and Extensible Application Markup Language (XAML).
The application commands can run from the shell script all while key encryption can be applied by users for even better security. To help users to manage files, we also implemented an effective analytical tool which allows users to have the visual history of their activity.
The testing process has played a big role in the project development. We paid great attention to the security, stress, and UI testing types. Since the project requires data storage activities, we used cloud testing capabilities. We simultaneously run a large amount of data in order to investigate even the slightest inaccuracies in the application operation.
Results
The project was successfully implemented and is now at the production stage. Users can apply all its features without any doubt about their data protection. Our client is satisfied with the end results, especially with the communication processes during the development stages.
Angelinos Coffee & Tea Online Store
QArea was asked to update and add new functionality to the Angelinos coffee & tea online store. The platform was released in 2015, and since then has been updated many times. It provides a wide range of tea and coffee products. Visitors can select items based on product characteristics, cost limitations, origin countries, etc.
Challenges
The online store had a readymade backend, but with limited usability and lack of functionality related to external user operations (user invitations, gifts for invited users, etc). Thus, we had to improve the UI/UX of the site and add a set of new features to simplify the shopping process. In addition, we had to implement an updated payment system, as the old one did not have the ability to change the future delivery date for activated subscriptions.
Since the user activities played a huge role for our client, we also had to provide services related to user expectations. We needed to implement an effective newsletter subscription and set up its capabilities in accordance with the requirements of the client. Furthermore, to ensure uninterrupted operation of the site and smooth transitions between pages, we had to provide QA support at every stage of project development.
Solutions
Our team provided both development and testing services as well as ensured comprehensive management support for our client. We used Drupal 7, PHP, and jQuery to complete Angelinos with the needed functionality. We have implemented recurring order subscriptions (Activate/Cancel/Pause/Skip next delivery) and refreshed payment system with the new version of Braintree.
To ensure the stable operation of the online store without unforeseen problems and security leaks, we used both manual and automated testing approaches. We focused on security testing and paid great attention to the compatibility of Angelinos with different web browsers, operating systems, and devices. We have made the interface quite intuitive, convenient, and simple.
Results
Actually, the project is at the release stage and has visitors from all over the world. The required functionalities have been successfully completed and thoroughly tested. Now, we provide support services and monitor the correct operation of the online store. Our client is satisfied with the final results, while all user expectations were met. Users can easily buy the necessary products, receive gifts for recommendations, and more.
Cannabis Exchange Platform
The client wanted us to create a licensed product, desktop ERP system, which would control and help employees report on each stage of cannabis production. This includes manufacturing, delivery, and financial operations. The project was meant to be legally controlled by the government, and have all processes as transparent as possible.
The ERP system had to be flawless. We had to engineer the architecture that quickly responded to rapidly-generated events, and for that, we needed to make sure the API is well-integrated both with the backend and frontend.
Software security standards are very high in the USA. Licensed products must be load-resistant and secure, so the next challenge was to achieve the maximum level of protection. This was needed for data processing, financial operations, and transactions. QArea focused on how well the integration of protection modules is performed across the whole ecosystem of services.
It was also necessary to establish an encrypted liaise between the host server and the server of a specific governmental entity. It would provide business owners with the ability to manage their legal affairs regularly, on time, and more efficiently.
In the course of development, we used Python and JavaScript as the main programming languages and put the data in SQL-type databases. Our expertise in processing, business analysis, and engineering led us to a reasonable solution in the face of a custom Odoo 8-API module for Magento CRM. Its capabilities include but are not limited to keeping ideology of working stations, tracking the production progress, controlling financial operations, planning transactions and points of sales. We successfully implemented the integration of automatic reports to the government about all stages of production.
We’ve managed to create a complete cloud ERP system for the web platform. Achieving the highest level of security possible, we made sure all software features work as intended. Our goal to provide the user with smooth experience was accomplished along with the client’s goal to make each and every process legal.
